Description of project:
This project entails the provision of comprehensive science kits to five neighbouring schools in a township, just outside of East London, as part of a pilot for a resources sharing model. The project targets one high school and four higher primary schools.
The Shuttleworth Foundation's involvement:
The Shuttleworth Foundation is funding the kits as well as the training and support for teachers around the kits.
Aims and objectives:
The aim of the project is to improve the quality of science teaching and to pilot a resources sharing model.
Updated Status (July 2003):
Science kits and training have been successfully implemented at the school, and the surrounding schools are enjoying its usage.Status (April 2003):
The kits and training are currently being implemented in the schools.
