Description of project:

This project was a request from Mr. Nqcenge, a teacher at Bulumko High School and a prominent facilitator involved in the 2002 Khanyagula regional Science Expo, to accompany the Khanyagula Township Expo?s winning students to compete at the National Science Expo in Pretoria in October 2002.

The Shuttleworth Foundation?s involvement:

The Shuttleworth Foundation funded Mr. Nqcenge?s flight and accommodation.

Aims and objectives:

The aim was to enable Mr. Nqcenge to attend and experience the National Science Expo first hand and to bring back the experience to the learners who participated in the Khanyagula Science Expo and to assist in preparation for future science expo?s.

Evaluation:

This project was a success. Mr. Nqcenge presented his experience to his learners and is eager to facilitate and support learners in the 2003 Khanyagula Township Expo.
