Description of project:

The Paarl Science Expo and Science Club project involves the organizing and facilitation of a science expo at various levels, ranging from school-based to a local Paarl expo. Successful learners would then go on to the regional and national expo. This project is part of a much broader program initiated by the governing body association.

It involves the placement of maths and science assistant educators in all 42 schools that are part of the association. An important aspect of the project is the formation of science clubs involving learners from the 42 schools as a means of ensuring that the excitement and enthusiasm created by the project is sustained.

The Shuttleworth Foundation's involvement:

The Foundation is funding the entire expo project as well as the formation of the science clubs.
