We focus on innovation. We believe the implementation of proven ideas is important, but there is a great deal of support for these kinds of initiatives already. We want to give the person with the fresh idea a chance to try it and see if it brings about the positive change they believe it will. Conventional thinking takes a great deal of time and effort to shift and often radical alternatives are needed to bring about change.
The fellowship offers the freedom and financial ability to bring about the change you envisage for the world as well as an enabling support structure and an existing network of social change agents. We will provide technological, financial, and legal support, enabling all administrative processes such as contracting with 3rd parties, done in an efficient and risk free manner.
We will also work to support you by connecting you with our network of projects, funders and institutions where we think you can offer value. The Foundation will support the Fellow to take their good ideas and turn them into successful initiatives. You will also be part of a continually growing pool of established alumni network to share learnings and experiences.
The effectiveness of our work is ensured by means of a unique operating model based on supporting the efforts of talented and passionate individuals to change the world via our fellowship program, which provides funding for dynamic leaders who are at the forefront of social change. We identify remarkable people, support their change efforts via a fellowship grant, and multiply the investment they make into their projects by a factor of ten or more.
This approach of supporting individuals through co-investment fellowships, rather than project funding, is founded on the belief that people are the true change agents that the world needs. Our fellows are willing to invest their time, talents and funds into creating the change they want to see. This ‘skin in the game’ concept helps focus efforts and creates a stronger sense of ownership than traditional donor funding.
In addition to affording them the freedom and financial ability to bring about the change they envisage, we give them access to an extensive international support structure, an established network of social change agents and comprehensive technological, financial and legal support. This is our investment, not just into each individual and his or her vision, but into the lasting positive impact their work will have on the world.
There are many types of Fellowship models awarded from all sorts of institutions. Ours is, we believe unique.
- We make bets on brilliance rather than reward past successes
- We hope that by freeing up 100% of a persons time to follow their dream, it will become a reality
- We make sure the Fellow invests, both personal resources as well as money into their projects. This ‘skin in the game’ concept helps focus efforts and creates a stronger sense of ownership than traditional donor funding.
- We allow investment of that money in businesses, non-profits and people – however the end result will be best met.
- We provide a legal, financial, administrative and technical home for the Fellows, allowing them to concentrate on their objectives.
